The fine print
Everything you need to know before you arrive — times, deposits, cancellations and our family park rules.
These are our general information and conditions of occupancy. Booking with us means agreeing to abide by them, so please have a read before you arrive. If anything's unclear, just get in touch.
A reservation is a contract between Sandspit Holiday Park and the person named on it, and is not transferable to anyone else without management's consent. The named person must occupy the site or cabin for the whole booking and is responsible for all occupants.
Check-in is from 2pm for all cabins and sites. Check-out is by 10am — a late check-out fee may apply.
Minimum stays and prices apply for all public holidays and long weekends, and from prior to Christmas through to 8 February.
A deposit is required to confirm your reservation. The balance is payable on arrival and for the full time booked — there's no reduction for early departure or late arrival.
Payment for bookings cancelled within 10 days of arrival will be forfeited, unless the cabin or site can be rebooked for the full time booked. A $20 administration fee applies. There is no refund for cancellations during peak times (Christmas to 8 February) and public holidays. Non-arrival requires full payment, and there are no refunds for early departure or late arrival. Damages and extra cleaning are charged back to the guest.
Credit card and Paywave payments are accepted; a 3% surcharge applies.
To ensure everyone has a great holiday, we expect common sense and consideration shown to all people at all times. Complete quietness must be observed from 10.30pm to 7am, and electronic or musical equipment kept at low volume at all times. Management reserves the right to refuse entry and remove anyone who, in their opinion, does not conduct themselves in a decent and reasonable manner — no refund is given in such circumstances.
Parents and caregivers are responsible for their children's safety at all times. Under-5s must be accompanied by an adult when using the toilet or shower facilities. The playground is closed from 9pm to 7am.
Alcohol is not permitted in any amenity areas or fridges — on sites or at cabins only. All camp buildings and amenities are smoke- and vape-free.
For safety, bikes, scooters and skateboards are not permitted between October and May. Outside these months they're not permitted in or around any public areas or buildings, and not after 8pm. No motorbikes, motocross or quad bikes are to be ridden in camp or on the beach.
The kitchen is to be used as intended. Benches are not for sitting, sleeping or relaxing on, and the kitchen is not a recreation room.
Please help us meet our environmental targets by using the right bins — only domestic table waste in the main bin, and recycling in the recycling bins. No large items (gazebo frames, awnings, tables, chairs, tent poles, furniture, etc.) — these are to be removed by yourselves. Please flatten all boxes and place them in the cage for paper and cardboard.
Our water comes from a metered bore, so please — no wastage. Water bombs and balloons are prohibited for safety reasons, and water pistols are not to be filled or used inside the amenity block or camp buildings.
Campers and visitors may not have animals or pets in the holiday park, in or out of vehicles, at any time. There are a small number of pet-friendly campsites available in the off season (May to October, and not during any public holiday periods) — but not in any cabins or units. See Camping for the pet-friendly guidelines.
Only one vehicle per site or cabin is permitted. No parking on or in front of empty sites or driveways. Extra vehicles must be parked outside the park entrance, and no visitor vehicles are permitted in the park.
Walking pace only — watch for children, and pedestrians have right of way. Speeding or dangerous driving could see your vehicle denied entry.
These must be sited as directed by management or staff, confined within the marked boundaries, with drawbars facing roadways. No ropes on trees, hedges or power boxes. More than one tent may occupy a site provided there's a 3-metre gap between tents/caravans on adjoining sites. Please note:
All tents and caravans must be placed to give a 3-metre gap from adjoining sites (drawbars and ropes excluded). Fires and braziers are not permitted in camp or in the Sandspit area, including the beach, and fireworks are not permitted in the camp or the Sandspit area.
Boats and trailers must be parked in the designated boat-parking areas as directed. For safety, no boats or trailers are permitted on sites or near cabins. Luggage-trailer parking is available — please see the office.
Boats may not be launched by vehicle from within the camp. There's paid launching at the Marina, or free launching at the local wharf at the end of Sandspit Road.
Visitors must check in at the office before entering the park and pay the daily fee; a visitor fee may apply. Visitor vehicles are not permitted in the park. A visitor is someone not staying the night, and must leave the park by 10pm. The cabin or site holder is responsible for their visitors while in the park. Please note: failure to register visitors at the office may see the cancellation of your cabin or site holding with immediate effect.
For Police, Fire or Ambulance, dial 111.
9am to 6pm unless otherwise stated or pre-arranged, and usually during peak times between October and May. If the office is unattended within these hours, please ring the number posted on the office door for assistance.
A mobile number for the after-hours emergency duty person is posted on the front door of the office. Any call-out deemed not to be an emergency will incur a call-out fee.
Park management is not responsible for the loss, theft or damage of any property for any reason, regardless of cause, including any fault relating to any fitting, appliance or apparatus within the park.
